The sophisticated charm of colonial-style décor is found everywhere in this luxurious spa hotel, located at the upper end of La Rambla. Dark woods, heavy armchairs, and muted colors are reminiscent of the 19th century, when the tobacco industry was at its height thanks to colonies like Cuba and the Philippines. This 1881 building, designed by Josep Oriol Mestres, also houses two restaurants led by the executive chef Carles Boronat and a bar—all are well worth a visit.
