Representing 1,000 years of cultural history, the MNAC’s enormous collection encompasses all forms of art, including furniture design, numismatics, and photography. The Palau Nacional, built for the 1929 International Exhibition on Mount Montjuïc above Plaça Espanya, houses works from masters as diverse as El Greco and Velázquez or Dalí and Picasso. MNAC’s collection of Roman art with its murals is one of the most significant in the world.
