Silent movie star Asta Nielsen occupied the bel étage of this building whose location on Fasanenstraße is as upscale today as it was then. Major celebrities of the Golden Twenties came and went here, and the Comedian Harmonists rehearsed in the salon. Today guests dine under the founding-epoch chandeliers and stucco decorations. Magnificent Art Nouveau furnishings fill the rooms. In fact, the past seems so alive here that you almost expect to see a hackney cab draw up outside the door.
