Frequented by tavern artists, heavyweight cabbies and the who’s who of the city’s bourgeois-bohème, this is the meeting place between Kurfürstendamm’s Renaissance Theater and the Theater des Westens. Many a controversial piece has been discussed here over drinks, the stars from the shows have gotten into brawls, and fans have knelt down to worship their idols. The bar still showcases its rustic ambiance as a worker’s pub during the imperial time. It’s particularly popular amongst musicians.
