Local before arrival
The three impressive buildings between the elegant department store Breuninger and Karlsplatz give Stuttgart's center a new urban development impulse. The “DOQU,” designed by Behnisch Architekten, uses crossings that lead across a piazza to the entrance to the Karlspassage while keeping the view of Schillerplatz and the Stiftskirche open simultaneously. With the mixture of shops on 100,000 square feet of space, an array of culinary options and a full event calendar, the owners have created another crowd-puller in the city center.
