SCHLESINGER
PHOTOS MAPS

Excellent Swabian cuisine with seasonal produce from local farmers at decent prices: This sounds like a down-to-earth country inn, but is a restaurant in the heart of the city, just a few steps away from the concert hall Liederhalle. When Martin Arnold, Jörg Schellinger and Heribert Meiers started Schlesinger in 1996 as a trendy pub with live music, they probably did not imagine their venue would become the gastronomic icon it has become 20 years later. The secret to their success is probably their ability to change without losing their initial concept. What makes this place so comfortable is the quality of the menu and the wide variety of drinks – over 100 different beers but also the diversity of its guests. Young and old, audiences from the theater to the soccer field, students and professors, singles and families, they all come together in a relaxed atmosphere without any attitude. Other popular places could learn a lot from the Schlesinger.
