In this magnificent market hall, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, customers will find the finest products at over 40 stands. Starting in the morning, the dealers offer their fresh goods, ranging from exotic fruits and fresh fish to rare spices, pastries, and wines from all regions of the world. A Greek stand offer pickled olives, fresh feta cheese, and spreads. Enticing chocolates and candied fruits shine in the showcases. On weekends it’s snug: Saturday afternoons the people of Stuttgart fill the aisles here, and it’s a must to sit down after shopping and have a drink or a snack together. From the gallery, customers can look down to the various stands and observe the hustle and bustle. Architect Professor Martin Elsässer supplied the plans for this hall, which was built in Art Nouveau style and is now a listed building.
