Over 100 years after its completion, the main building of the Postsparkasse still reflects Otto Wagner’s visionary spirit with which the famous Vienna architect revolutionized the stylistic vocabulary of his time in the early 20th century—from the steel-glass canopy of the main banking hall to the stools to the legendary aluminum exhausts of the ventilation system. Since its general renovation in 2005, the building now also houses a museum with changing exhibits, and the small banking hall is once again open to the public.
