Local before arrival
Headed by Peter Noever since 1986, MAK has housed large single-artist exhibitions by Franz West, Elke Krystufek, Peter Eisenman, or Anish Kapoor. By creating innovative exhibitions from the permanent collection and putting on top-class symposiums, MAK has positioned itself as a central interface for contemporary art, design, and architecture. Special projects are held at the MAK Depot of Contemporary Art in the Arenbergpark flak tower, which is slated to house the Contemporary Art Tower (CAT) project for the 21st century collection.
