The Abbey opened in 1991 as a coffeehouse and virtually exploded onto the LA gay and lesbian scene. Today, it is no longer just a café that serves American breakfast from morning ’til night, or comfort food such as mac & cheese and BLT. Primarily a nightclub, the dance floor rocks and sizzles in every sense of the word. And when the hot and sexy (and usually male) go-go dancers get moving and house beats heat up the crowd, no one cares who is gay and who is straight.
