Local before arrival
Unknowing tourists might assume that an “Original Neapolitaner” comes from Italy. Every Austrian, however, regardless of his age, will proudly correct such a misunderstanding. Almost as famous as the Stephansdom, the Manner-Schnitte has been the town’s edible emblem since its invention in 1898. Several layers of hazelnut cream in between crispy waffles make the bite-sized treat irresistible, much as the advertising slogan says.
