In addition to his New York gallery, James Cohan chose Shanghai as the second location for his art exhibits. Since 2008, he shows works from international artists such as Bill Viola, Alex Katz, Yinka Shonibare, Wang Xieda, or Yujn-Fei Ji in a beautiful 1930s art deco building in the heart of the French Concession. Many of the artists on display have rarely been seen in China, and so the gallery’s focus on international works adds multi-cultural enrichment to the local art scene.
