This historic 1925 Elks Club building would be impressive on its own, but Farallon designer Pat Kuleto has embellished it into an underwater fantasy, complete with jellyfish chandeliers and a 50,000-marble “caviar” staircase. Each room is unique; the Pool Room, with original arched mosaics by 1920s artist Anthony Heinsbergen, is particularly lovely. Naturally, seafood is the specialty here—locals often come just for the happy hour menu of oysters, clams, and truffled fries.
