The playful Triton has taken an aging building and remodeled in full Technicolor: purple fountains, green statuary, gold lamé sofas, and a giant curlicue mural by Kari Pei. After free wine and cookies in the lounge, the whimsy continues upstairs, where guests can draw on chalkboard walls, don leopard-print robes from the closet, and bathe with rubber duckies. Small, colorful rooms look out onto the Chinatown gates. Hungry? The “Häagen Dazs Suite” comes with unlimited ice cream.
