This micro-museum is a scene from “Blade Runner,” complete with undulating aircraft, swirling lights, and graceful robots. It’s weird and whimsical, but it’s also applied science. These are the designs of Carlo Pisaturo, a Stanford engineer who hand-builds kinetic sculptures to explore topics like “complex beam theory” or “multi-vector rotation.” Thankfully, you don’t need a technical degree to find his work compellingly strange and lovely.
