The foundations of the luxury hotel’s nine landmarked buildings have stood since the Middle Ages. A ten-year restoration has given its ornate historical elements – including ceiling coverings, mouldings and wall paintings that come from, in part, the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras – a new sheen. They provide a unique setting for the 20th century classics by Bertoia, Le Corbusier, Eames or Wright that make each of the 34 rooms and 15 suites one-of-a-kind.
