The Savoy is to London hotels what Big Ben is to its landmarks – quite simply: irreplaceable. Iconic since its grand opening in 1889, this exclusive hotel is back to its historic best, thanks to a £220 million restoration. Nine “personality suites” have been styled after some of the hotel’s most famous guests, including Marlene Dietrich, Frank Sinatra, Claude Monet – and even Charlie Chaplin. For those with loftier ambitions, there’s also the Royal Suite, which occupies the entire front of the 5th floor. Fit for a king – literally!
