Awright, Guvnah? Covent Garden, historically London’s central fruit and veg market, was once awash with these sorts of phrases, bandied about by Cockney barrow boys selling their wares. These days, visitors are more likely to associate the area with West End shows or with the throngs of tourists who gather at its central square – also home to the London Transport Museum – to watch the array of street performances. Seven Dials, to the north, is home to a selection of trendy independent stores, and well worth a visit.
