Tacombi began as a roadside taqueria catering to hungry beach-goers on the Yucatan Peninsula. When it moved to New York, it retained its roots by continuing to serve authentic, fresh tacos from inside a converted VW camper. The van is now parked inside a spacious garage on Elizabeth Street that’s hung with lights and Mexican decorations. The dining room is as colorful as the menu items, which include frijoles criollos with homemade chorizo, ceviche, and every type of taco imaginable.
