Local before arrival
Southern Barbarian is a pearl just waiting to be found. The search takes you down a long corridor, across the courtyard and up to the second floor, where you are rewarded with a wonderfully modest, unpretentious restaurant that serves delicious food from Yunnan Province. Although there isn’t room here for the full menu, gourmet delights worth mentioning are the fried goat cheese, grilled eggplant with tomatoes, crispy peppermint salad, Grandma’s mashed potatoes, and the extensive beer list.
