Local before arrival
The Olympic and Paralympic Village has been designed to accommodate 17,000 officials and athletes during the Games. There are 11 residential blocks, designed around communal areas, with bars, restaurants, medical and media centres contained within. After the Games the space was transformed into 2,818 new homes, including 1,379 affordable homes.
