Local before arrival
Since the middle age craftsmen joined together in guildhalls. In Zurich, there are still quite a few places called Zunfthäuser testifying this tradition. Some neighborhoods have built such halls, namely around the city’s Oberstrass (upper street). They met in the Trinkstube (Zunfthaus) to exchange ideas, for social gatherings and, of course, to drink their beer. The Linde has been home to the Oberstrass since 1925 and its very own brewery (Linde Huusbier) guarantees an unchanged, traditional enjoyment of beer, accompanied by a varied selection of food. The tavern and the Stübli with their wooden walls are especially cozy and the historic Guildhall and Lindensaal entices many visitors in the summer.
