Local before arrival
Peclard began life in 1845 as ‘Eberle's Sweetshop’ and has since become a Zurich institution, and paradise for the sweet-toothed with a hankering for the old-world. Treats can be bought from the glittering Neo-Baroque shop, or for a lasting impression taken in the Salon Rouge or Tea Room, with its divine trompe-l'oeil wallpaper. The gugelhupf, apple-strudel, truffles, and pralines are a must-try for those who prefer a lighter option, and are best enjoyed on the terrace while sipping a Schoggi Mélange – a hot chocolate with cream.
