Serving as the home for the famed Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, the Joan Weill Center for Dance was designed with an audience in mind. Glass curtain walls not only let in natural light but also provide views into studios and practice facilities, making it easy for passers-by to view the dancing within from the street. Following the completion of the 8-story construction by Iu + Bibliowicz Architects in 2005, the Joan Weill Center became the largest facility dedicated solely to dance in the United States.
