To the unenlightened, the featurless office building on Gymnasium Street wouldn’t warrant a second look. But those in the know, know... that in the depths of this former bank is a fabulous prohibition-style bar. No codeword is required, but you do have to figure out where to ring the bell. Once you’re behind the looking glass it’s all speakeasy vibes: a relaxed crowd, a backlit bar, and a seemingly endless drinks menu designed by owners Eric Bergmann and Uwe Heine to keep their guests happy (their excellent motto is that there may be no reason to have a drink, but there’s always an occasion.) Beware, though, this place is magnetic and you won’t want to leave – which is actually fine, because when you’re in the vault the walls are thick enough to enjoy an all-night party without disturbing a soul.
