Local before arrival
Manuel Alorda and Hanneke Derksen have been collectors for over 40 years: first Old Master paintings, now modern art. In an effort to share their enthusiasm for the avant-garde with the public, they established a foundation which has given Barcelona a new point of reference for contemporary art. Creations of young British artists, such as the brilliant but controversial Damien Hirst or Tracey Emin, engage in an exciting dialog with works by Anish Kapoor, Tom Friedman, and Anselm Kiefer.
