Local before arrival
Café Hawelka is a very special institution in Vienna. Founder Leopold Hawelka still likes to sit at one of the tables, drinking a Mélange (white coffee) and eating homemade Buchteln (sweet dumplings). Quite a few artists found new inspiration at this charming coffee house, including, for instance, the German band Kraftwerk who included a hidden reference to the nostalgic café in one of their songs.
