A stylish restaurant in South Williamsburg, Xixa offers Mexican fare, agave-inspired cocktails, and over 200 wines. The eye-catching name alludes to the owners’ backstory, which began when they fell in love, traveled through Europe, and encountered a Spanish café with a similar name. Xixa, pronounced “shiksa,” is a Yiddish term of endearment meaning gentile woman (Jason, the chef, is Jewish, while Heather, the co-owner, is not). The blithe spirit of their love story resonates in the romantic interior and the menu’s light, aphrodisiacal flavors.
