Local before arrival
A few steps from the first stop of the L subway line on the lively Bedford Avenue is the restaurant Juliette. Its ground floor boasts the interior of an original, rebuilt French brasserie while the rooftop terrace offers the relaxing atmosphere of a garden café. The cuisine is not strictly French, offering even tasty hamburgers. Especially recommended come the cool summer specialties: a variety of salads and cheese or meat plates. An antique bar—circa 1930—anchors the entrance, and the lighting, table stands, and signage are original French as well.
