Subtly redesigned by architects Eichinger oder Knechtl, this 1950s-era loft has housed the first large-scale photography gallery in Austria since it opened in 2001. Aside from a permanent exhibition of approximately 800 historic cameras ranging from the first Leica to the AEG sky imager, the WestLicht gallery also provides space for changing exhibitions of noted photographic artists such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Thomas Hoepker, or Herbert List as well as space for group shows of up-and-coming photographers.
