Local before arrival
History lovers will go there for the grade-2 listed building designed by Vincent Harris as an electricity generating facility in 1905. Food lovers will go there for the superbly cooked chicken and succulent steak. Art lovers will go there for the Damien Hirst piece, featuring a real pickled chicken riding a real pickled cow, suspended in formaldehyde from the roof. But don’t be put off – just focus on what’s on your plate. We particularly loved the chicken, served face-first, legs and all.
