The windows of Prince Roland Bonaparte’s former home were first opened over Paris in 1896. The Shangri-La really does offer a rich array of views across the French capital: the Seine, the Invalides, the Eiffel Tower. It seems as if guests would be able to embark on a tour of these iconic monuments right from their suites. It is one of the few hotels to refrain from the temptations of contemporary design with the aim of preserving the traditional elegance of French hotels.
