Since 2007, Rivington Place in Shoreditch, with its gallery, library and café, has been a popular meeting place, and it is also the first publically accessible location in Britain to be entirely dedicated to the cross-cultural visual arts. The building, designed by David Adjaye, is home to the Institute of International Visual Arts and Autograph ABP. Adjaye’s inspiration stems from the district’s history, and also from contemporary African art.
