Local before arrival
Since 2005, Parasol unit has been showcasing solo and group exhibitions by leading contemporary artists as well as new international talent, in a warehouse designed by Claudio Silvestrin and constructed by Michael Drain Architects. The gallery regularly develops site-specific works for its 4,850 sq. ft. exhibition venue. It is this lively exchange between the art world and the public, in the previously deprived Angel district, which is of particular importance to the director/curator of this not-for-profit gallery, Ziba Ardalan.
