Barcelona loves its Palau de la Música, a masterwork of Modernisme designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner and built between 1905 and 1908. The breathtaking concert hall with its inverted dome of glass has seen performances by the giants of classical music like Maurice Ravel, Igor Strawinsky, and Richard Strauss, as well as by artists like Duke Ellington, Paco de Lucía, and Norah Jones. The 1989 extension featuring light-red brick and glass was designed by Oscar Tusquets.
