36,000 ceramic rods spanning no less than 23 colors make up the façade of this recently inaugurated museum, giving it a vibrant, iridescent, and flickering appearance. While all the vast rooms are kept in white, the exhibits are as colorful as the exterior. The collection was assembled by the married couple Brandhorst and features some of the most influential artists of the late 20th century, including Andy Warhol, Joseph Beuys, and Damien Hirst, while a whole floor is dedicated to Cy Twombly.
