Local before arrival
The walls are white and the picture frames empty. After all, the meals served here are the only art that matters—despite the fact that the Lenbachhaus is only steps away in its shiny, new wing. By the way, the restaurant’s name pays homage to two famous artists whose work hangs in the museum: “Ella” was the nickname that Wassily Kandinsky gave his lover, Gabriele Münter.
