When Giuseppina came from Apulia to Milan in 1949 with her family, never in her wildest dreams would she have thought that people would be willing to wait in line in front of her bakery, hoping to get a warm and crispy panzerotto. Filled with mozzarella and tomatoes, spinach, ham, mushrooms, or even chocolate, this delectable morsel is deep fried to perfection. The recipe has been greedily guarded throughout the generations.
