The largest Egon Schiele collection in the world is housed in a white cube clad in white shell limestone. The clear shape of the museum underscores the power of the Viennese Art Nouveau masterpieces within, particularly those belonging to the Secessionist movement starting with Gustav Klimt, as well as artwork of the Wiener Werkstätte and of Austrian Expressionism. Paintings, graphic art, and objects from other significant 19th and 20th-century artists, including precious handicrafts and original furniture, complete the museum’s collection.
