This cultural institute was founded to honor Tomie Ohtake, a naturalized Brazilian artist, born in Japan in 1913, who is considered one of the main exponents of Informal Abstractionism. Occupying over 80,000 square feet, the venue showcases new national and international trends in art, architecture, design, literature, cinema, and music. The Gaudi bookshop in the Grand Hall, with its comprehensive selection of books on different aspects of art, is also worth a visit.
