Once known as Sub Astor, this bar is currently being reinvented. A meeting place for actors from the beloved telenovelas, this Art Deco black bar offers a hunting ground for those who want one. But those who don’t can still enjoy an objective view of the goings-on in Vila Madalena and get a look at its inhabitants, who seem to consist only of fashion, agency and film people. The caipirinhas with Brazilian fruit are popular. Ask for the açaí caipirinha—it’s not always available.
