Local before arrival
The family-lead restaurant Il Matriciano lies near the Vatican, in the elegant neighborhood of Prati. As suggested already by its name, it is most of all famous for its bucatini alla matriciana: macaroni with tomatoes and small pieces of bacon. Many other pasta dishes in the Roman fashion are prepared here as well. One should, by all means, also try one of the sweet deserts which often leave the kitchen still steaming and with a sweet smell.
