It is exhibitions like these that transport us to a different age. Visitors can walk along a section of the Wall or view the rest of the border strip from a viewing platform. A special item on the wide-ranging memorial program is the Zeitzeugencafé (contemporary witness café), a regular event bringing residents from East and West Berlin together to exchange and share their experiences in considerably historic times: before the city was divided, during the dictatorship, and after the fall of the Wall in 1989.
