Local before arrival
The Gas Natural Fenosa energy company moved into its new headquarters in La Barceloneta in 2008. Designed by Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue, this energy-efficient building, glazed in shades of blue and brown, towers 278 ft. into the air, with another 278 ft. section branching out at a right angle like a horizontal skyscraper, fondly nicknamed the “aircraft carrier.” MoMA in New York acquired the model of the building for its collection.
