Emanuel Layr did internships in galleries even when he was a student. In 2002, he and Thomas Wüstenhagen, who is now active as art advisor, opened a project room near the MuseumsQuartier. After moving to the first district in 2011, Layr took over management of the gallery by himself. He presents primarily young artists, including discoveries like the 1971-born Lisa Holzer, who in her works occasionally employs unconventional media, like nail polish.
