DUOMO DI MILANO
PHOTOS MAPS

The Duomo di Milano is the symbol of Milan and one of the most complex examples of Gothic Italian architecture. The building construction began in 1386 and went on for centuries, and the façade wasn’t completed until 1813. The roof has 3,400 statues and turrets, which give it an almost whimsical appearance compared to the interior, with its five naves bathed in a pale light filtering through stained-glass windows.
