Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel is a New York institution. The dignified atmosphere is kept light with whimsical wall murals by Ludwig Bemelmans, creator of the beloved children’s character Madeline. Restored in 2002, its Art Deco past has been revived with an exquisite black granite bar and a ceiling covered in gold leaves.
