Local before arrival
It’s hard to imagine this structure was once occupied by the city’s central library. Designer Marcel Wanders transformed the modest building into an extraordinary design hotel. The renowned Dutch interior designer included his trademarks: playful lamps and furniture in black, white, and orange. The numerous patterns on the walls—historic themes and scenes in Delft blue—reveal Wanders’ inspiration: Dutch traditions and the history of Amsterdam.
