The historical building by architects Karl Schmalhofer and Otto Nadel was completed in 1926 and is named after Amalie Pölzer, Vienna’s local councilor at that time. At the moment of its opening, the art deco edifice featured one of Europe’s largest public pools. Nowadays, besides the 110-ft.-long basin, the Amalienbad offers a sauna area, a solarium, and a restaurant.
