Local before arrival
With stainless steel floors and spaciously designed interiors, this one-room museum focuses on the construction, history, and social importance of high-rise buildings as objects of design and products of today’s most impressive technological advances. As the home of all things skyscraper, it is only appropriate that SOM, the famed architectural firm that pioneered the modern skyscraper, designed the museum. The original model and history of the World Trade Center are also on display as a special tribute to 9/11.
